Swip Swap

I have just signed myself up to participate in a cushion swap.  A cushion swap, what is that I hear you say.  A cushion swap is where i make a cushion cover and send it to a random other crafter out there who has signed up to be a part of the swap.  It is a little bit a crafting for me, and having the pleasure of sending it to someone who love handmade too.

I have not participated in a swap before, and I am a little bit excited and a large bit nervous.  What if what I make is crap, or the person does not like it.  And where will I go for inspiration.  Oh… I better start looking.

Craft swaps are not a new thing.  They have been going for ages, I just have never had the guts to join in.  You too can join in here.  Go on, head there now!! And thanks to Vic for hosting.

Redundant

This little blog space has become redundant for writing in and has just become my place to read about all the other crafty lovlies that I like.

A sneak peak!!

Work has been going full steam ahead on the website design and layout.  I have had a few meetings with the design team and we have the site design pretty much sorted, and now the building and training is going to take place and hopefully items will be up for sale just before christmas.  This will allow for a little time to get used to how things work, and next year advertising and marketing can go full steam ahead. 

But for now here is a sneak peak at what a page of Miss Milla's online store will look like!! I am very excited and thinks it looks darn fine.

Man Craft

At the moment for me there is not much crafting getting done at all.  

Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork and hour sourcing suppliers on the internet is the only thing I am getting done. 

But out in the shed, man's domain, there was a little bit of man crafting going on.  (well work actually) And there was an excellent apprentice working there too.

Spring has sprung

What beautiful, beautiful weather.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could have it like this everyday, with showers now and then just to help all the pretty plants grow.

The bright white legs are on show today, and with pride I might just try to keep them that way all summer long and avoid nasty sunburn.

A few supplies have been ordered for the upcoming Miss Milla's store and many more cool suppliers have been contacted.  But ahhh..... the business plan that was nicely underway has gone awol on the usb stick it was saved on, so I am having to start all over again.  Deep breath.... I will get there and good things come to those who wait and take there time to ensure that all is done properly.

Blogging Every Day

I have to get used to trying to blog everyday.  While I sit and complain about having no time to do anything, how am i meant to fit in a blog everyday, with some cool pic's attached too, when I can not even get through the stuff I am meant to do everyday.

Off to the mountain of paperwork that must be done!

Getting busy now

Things are getting busy now. I have had the web design company send through a draft of the home page for the website and I have to say that I am very, very pleased. 

I got a brand new macbook this week, so most of my spare time this week has been consumed with trying to get it working just how I want it too and getting all the info from m old computer on to the new one. Silly me also went and got wireless internet and a new phone system in the same week, so all I have done is plug and unplug cables and curse loudly when things are not working.

So enough blogging, off to do real work and contact suppliers and make some actions plans and to do lists!!

Ahhh...headache

ouch.ouch.ouch

I have had a headache for the last 24 hours and am a little over it.  I have also had a case of the clumsies all week and am feeling very unproductive and have got nothing done. 

I am planning on heading to the craftfest in melbourne this weekend to get some much needed inspiration and to try and find some savvy suppliers with exciting crafty goodness for my shop.

A week away

We have just been for a week away camping with friends. Lots of doing nothing, spending time with the kids, eating and sleeping. While I took crafty things along, nothing was done as there was just too much lazing around to do. It was a beautiful place - Lake Tyers in Victoria - but we could do without the bugs.

Here are a few photos from our time away, and I am now eagerly awaiting the next trip. While we were away we realisied that in a years time we will be heading on holidays to get married. It seems like so far away, but I'm sure time will fly.

Logo - Done

Yeah, yahoo, yippee.

The logo for Miss Milla's is complete. After a meeting with the design team, they sent through a draft of the logo for Miss Milla's, and after a minor tweak all is complete.

Many many thanks to Claire at Red Fish Blue Fish creative for her wonderful design and clear understanding of my rambling explanations of what I wanted. She did a wonderful job and I am so so happy with the logo. On to the website next.

As research, I have gone out and brought the equipment needed to learn to crochet and also a kit to make resin jewelry. I am loving all this new craft in the name of research. Soon there will be too many unfinished projects and too many to start. And on top of all the crafty projects, i have just started to try to figure out how to use the new video camera and software on the computer to make cute little home movies in order to be able to embarrass the kids when they are older.

Hopefully there will be some great pic's up here soon, and who knows even a video link. (if i can figure it out, or how to get it on here)

Miss Milla's in on the way

Miss Milla's is in the pipeline. After too many years working for the man and spending my days away from home and sitting in someones else's office, i have taken the leap and am in the process of getting a logo and websites designed.

Miss Milla's will be an online hub offering designer fabrics, modern patterns and reference books, resin jewellery supplies, kits, embroidery and much much more.
